Salma El-Baradie

Salma is currently doing her doctorate in Existential Psychotherapy with the New School for Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling. She holds an MSc in Health Psychology from Leiden University in the Netherlands and a Bachelor degree from the American University in Cairo in Psychology. She has experience working with underprivileged and marginalized members of the population in areas of trauma and recovery as well as coping with divorce. These include adults, children and adolescents through an integrative approach that works to alleviate distress and inner conflicts by addressing thought processes, feelings and behavior. Techniques used include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Art therapy.
She has also worked extensively with children and adolescents in the areas of behaviour management and addressed parenting concerns regarding issues such as anxiety, depression, time management, self-discipline, drug and alcohol experimentation and sexuality concerns.
Salma is particularly interested in the therapeutic journey where people discover and tackle their inner dilemmas by identifying maladaptive thought patterns and behaviour and replacing them with healthier coping mechanisms.
