Omar Nafie


Omar Nafie is the leading addiction therapist in the UK & Egypt. For over the past 25 years, he has worked with individuals and families in overcoming drugs, alcohol, sex and other addictions.

Mr Nafie has worked over the past 20 years as a family and addiction therapist in a range of different therapeutic settings both in Egypt and the UK. He has developed and implemented a number of treatment and training programmes addressing substance abuse treatment and family support in both countries. Mr. Nafie initially trained as a systemic therapist before completing an MA in psychotherapy from Regents College, London. He is also one of the few Certified Sex Addiction Therapists (CSAT) in the Middle East, after receiving his certificate from the The International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).

Mr. Nafie has also completed a postgraduate certificate in supervision at University of Derby and his work could be described as integrative with systemic and existential overtones.

Mr. Nafie is the founder and director of EXIST for Counselling and Training for Professionals in Cairo and he has been a member of the United Kingdom Council for psychotherapists (UKCP) for over 10 years.
